The Decorah track and field teams wrapped up their competition on indoor tracks Tuesday, March 25 with the Northeast Iowa Conference indoor meet at Luther College.
While no team scores were kept, both squads saw victory on the track and in field events.
The boys picked up 10 first place finishes with the first coming in the shot put. William Hahn heaved the weight 50 feet, 1.25 inches, besting his teammate Luke Franzen by nearly 4 feet. Franzen was the runner-up.
Davis Walter picked up the top spot in the 400-meter dash, circumnavigating the indoor oval twice in 55.12 seconds, just ahead of fellow Viking Ray Hayek. It was Garrett See and Grant Zilka going 1-2 in the 1600-meter run. See posted the winning time of 4:40.25, edging Zilka’s 4:40.84 time for the win.
