Vikes back on the course

As the regular season is winding down, the Decorah girls’ golf team played two meets in two days to finish last week.

Friday night
The Vikes traveled to the Cresco Country Club to take on the Cadets, with Crestwood taking the win 258 to 207.
Annika Lensch led the charge for Decorah with a 61. Providing a 64 was Jane Murphy, while Brooke Norby came through with a 66. It was Lexie Hauber rounding out the team score with a 67. Hope Stahl (69) also played varsity.

At home
Saturday, the Decorah girls welcomed Crestwood, Sumner-Fred and Waukon to Oneota Golf and Country Club for a quad meet, finishing with 488 in fourth place. Firing a 387 total, Sumner-Fred took the top team spot, followed by Waukon (395) and Crestwood (417).
The Sumner-Fred squad crowned both the medalist and runner-up finishers in Katie Reno (87) and Morgan Brandt (93).
On the 18-hole, par-72 course, Lensch once again paced the Vikes with 111. Stahl fashioned a 123 for Decorah. Finishing the day with 127s were Murphy and Hauber, while Norby toured the course for a 130.

More this week
Decorah competed in a double dual with Crestwood and Waukon Monday and hosts Waverly-Shell Rock tonight (Tuesday, May 4) at Silvercrest Golf and Country Club at 4 p.m.
