AA lot has transpired for the Turkey Valley Trojan volleyball team in the past week or so.
The Trojans and co-head coaches Ashley Walz and Tammy Vrzak helped guide their Trojans to a third-place finish in the Upper Iowa Conference standings after finishing off the league portion of their slate with a three-set sweep over West Central and a win in four at MFL MarMac.
This is the second year in a row that the Trojans have gone 6-2 in league play and finished third in the league standings.

Last week
The Trojans won in three games over West Central on Tuesday, Oct. 8 by scores of 25-7, 25-8 and 25-12. TV had to go four games to outlast the Bulldogs of MFL – 20-25, 25-22, 25-20 and 26-24.
“The girls came to play ball. They gelled on the court and came up with three-straight wins,” Vrzak said of the West Central Match in Maynard.
TV played in the Riceville Invite this past Saturday, but those match results and stats were not available as the Tribune went to press.
TV senior Layni Schuchhardt and junior Annika Bodensteiner each tabulated nine kills apiece in the West Central match. Trojan junior setter Addison Steinlage dished out 26 assists and senior libero Morgan Vsetecka came up with 16 digs. Karstyn Lukes, another junior for the Trojans, notched 10 digs.
TV was 70-of-73 serving against the 6-18 Blue Devils. Steinlage was 15-for-15 serving and continued her mastery in the serving department. She is 264-of-266 serving this fall, good for a 99.2 percent efficiency through 25 matches tabulated thus far on gobound.com.
