Trojan boys back above .500

Back-to-back victories pushed the Turkey Valley boys’ basketball team (8-7, 4-6 UIC) over the .500 mark for the season Monday and Tuesday.
Stepping out of the Upper Iowa Conference, the Trojans hosted Crestwood (1-13, 0-7 NEIC) and picked up a 74-64 win.
The hot hand of the game went to Braylen Byrne with 24 points and seven rebounds. Oliver Schmitt put in 18 points and had a team-high eight boards and six assists. Logan Busta was also in double figures with 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Russell Nieman provided seven points and six rebounds.
The Trojans put up a second win in the week with a 62-47 win over West Central (0-14, 0-11 UIC) Tuesday night on the road. No other game information or stats were available at press time.
This week the Trojans have another Saturday games that kicks off the junior varsity at 5 p.m., at Clarksville.
Next week, TV will be at Central Elkader Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
