After a slow start to Tuesday night’s game, the South Winn boys’ basketball team (2-1, 2-1 UIC) lit up the nets to defeat West Central (0-2, 0-2 UIC) on the road, 68-31.
In a tight battle for the lead, the Warriors led 12-11 after the first eight minutes. The second quarter was more Warrior style as the ball fell offensively for South Winn and defense was tight, outscoring the Blue Devils 17-4 to lead 29-15 at halftime. Despite West Central setting the pace in the third period, SW was back at it in the final eight minutes, holding the hosts to six points for the victory.
