It marks the team scoring the fourth-most points in a single game as Ali Hoffert also broke the made field goals record with 17. The previous record was held by Chyanne Kleve at 15 in both 1999 and 2000.

A slow start on the road was too much for the Decorah girls’ basketball team (11-8, 8-4 NEIC) to overcome Thursday night as the Vikes fell to MFL MarMac (15-6, 12-4 UIC) in Monona, 69-54.

The Decorah boys’ basketball team (14-5, 9-2 NEIC) took down MFL MarMac (7-14, 7-9 UIC) Thursday in Monona, 76-37. In the process, Viking senior Charlie Robinson nailed a school record 11 three-pointers.

The Decorah girls’ and boys’ bowling teams competed in the annual conference baker team tournament Wednesday. Teams in the conference include Columbus Catholic, Charles City, Denver, Forest City, North Fayette Valley, North Iowa, Oelwein, Sumner-Fred, Tripoli, Waukon and Waverly-Shell Rock.

Hitting the road Tuesday night, the Decorah boys’ basketball team (13-7) visited Cedar Rapids Washington (10-7) for a non-conference match-up. Despite keeping it close for three quarters, the final period was too much for the Vikes as they dropped the contest, 74-62.

The dual season came to an end for the South Winn wrestling team Tuesday night.
The Warriors, ranked No. 15 in the final dual rankings compiled by the Iowa Wrestling Coaches Association and Iowa high School Athletic Association, faced No. 11 Denver in the regional dual semifinals hosted by West Hancock in Britt.
Hoffert becomes point-leader in TV history

The Turkey Valley girls’ basketball team (16-5, 13-3 UIC) wrapped up the regular season this week with a pair of wins over Central Elkader and Clayton Ridge. In the process, senior Ali Hoffert surpassed Shelby Reicks’ career point record of 1266 points in 5-on-5 basketball at Turkey Valley. After Tuesday’s game, Hoffert’s total stands at 1269 with the postseason ahead.

While the temperatures were frigid outside, the Warrior offense was on fire Friday night, as the South Winn boys’ basketball team (9-4, 8-2 UIC) lit up the nets to defeat Kee High (6-8, 5-5 UIC) on the road, 72-48.
