Trojans preparing for playoffs; defeat Tripoli
Monday, October 11, 2021 1:33 pm
It wasn’t just a win for the Turkey Valley football team (7-0, 5-0) Friday night, it was also the game that clinched the top seed in the district. Hosting Tripoli (4-3, 3-2), the Trojan offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage to give the Red and White the 46-12 victory.
“We played well again,” praised Coach Mark Scott. “On defense we held them out of the end zone until we gave up two big plays late in the game. Considering each team only punted once and they only turned it over once, our defense did a great job of not letting them score.”

We ran the ball just well enough that they needed to worry about that part of the game too,” said Coach Pat Trewin. “Our defense and special teams played very well again. We won the field position game and after their initial run, we shut them down.”
Ohrt seeing progress in SW gridders
Monday, October 11, 2021 1:30 pm

“We adjusted our coverage schemes on defense a little bit and that presented some problems for Bellevue’s passing attack. Keagan Streeter and Landon Garcia had another great game defensively. Lane Quandahl played his best game defensively this season. Despite being just sophomores, Brady Ohrt, Parker Timp and Brody Tieskoetter are playing very well for us. We are asking a lot out of those three kids and they just go out there and play at a high level each week,” noted Coach Ohrt.
