The Decorah baseball team (16-12, 11-5 NEIC) stunned Class 2A No. 6 New Hampton on the road Monday in a 10-inning marathon game and ended the night with a split. Tuesday, the Vikes were back at home.
Warrior power; SW takes down Trojans 11-1

After the rain clouds unleashed some moisture Thursday, the South Winn (15-7, 12-1 UIC) and Turkey Valley baseball teams (5-13, 5-8 UIC) were able to get on the Warrior field in Calmar, with SW coming up with an 11-1 victory.
Back-to-back good nights; Vikes pick up three wins

The Decorah baseball team (15-10, 10-4 NEIC) rose to the call of Head Coach Alec Zwanziger and produced back-to-back strong games to finish last week with a sweep at Waukon and Clear Lake.

The South Winn softball team (12-11, 7-0 UIC) continues to roll on in the Upper Iowa Conference as the Warriors swept MFL MarMac at home Wednesday. The Class 3A No. 7 Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars overpowered the Warriors Friday. Saturday’s tournament at Dunkerton was rained out.
Lady Trojans drop pair to Kee at home

The power of the UIC leader Kee (15-11, 10-0 UIC) was too much for the Trojan softball team (5-17, 5-5 UIC) Wednesday in Jackson Junction as Turkey Valley fell to the Hawks, 20-5 and 14-1, in the doubleheader.

Thursday night the Decorah softball team (5-10, 2-4 NEIC) faced one of the best in northeast Iowa as they hosted Class 1A No. 8 North Linn (21-10) in a doubleheader.

Going on the road in conference action, the Turkey Valley softball team (5-15, 5-3 UIC) split a pair with Central Elkader Monday night. Tuesday, the Trojans stepped out of the UIC to battle Saint Ansgar on the road.

The South Winn baseball team (10-7) hosted the annual triangular with Class 4A Ottumwa (14-5) and Class 3A Decorah (12-10) in Calmar on Saturday. The Warriors finished 0-2 on the day while the Vikes were 1-1.

After four straight losses, the Turkey Valley baseball team (4-11, 4-7 UIC) were looking for a positive outcome on the diamond which came Thursday at home against MFL MarMac (16-5, 9-2 UIC). The Bulldogs were tied for first in the UIC heading into the game were handed a 6-1 loss by the Trojans, dropping to third.
