First team nods for Driscoll, LaFrentz, Milburn

Leading most categories as a team and/or individuals, the Decorah boys basketball team had three members named to the Northeast Iowa Conference first team in addition to winning the final league crown.
For Zach Driscoll and Cael LaFrentz it’s a second honor while Noah Milburn springboards to the first team with the pair.
Driscoll, who was a second team honoree last season, led the league in assists with 174, average 7.6 per game to go with a scoring average of 20.8 points (478 total) a night. From the charity stripe, the senior was 92.2 percent, connecting on 95-of-103 free throws. With 55 steals, he led not only the Vikings but the conference and finished fifth in the NEIC in rebounding with 136 total caroms (114 defensive, 22 offensive).
Hitting more than 1,000 career points this season, LaFrentz topped the charts with 689 total points (30.0 ppg), including a record-setting 44 points in a single game this season. He finished his junior campaign with a 65.4 effective field goal percentage – the best in the league. Averaging 12.7 rebounds a night, he had 293 total boards (189 defensive, 104 offensive) and led the NEIC in blocked shots with 84.
Third in scoring and fourth in rebounds, Milburn gets his first all-NEIC nod. The junior knocked down 225 points this season and grabbed 126 rebounds, along with handing out 71 assists. He came away with 27 steals and 18 blocked shots as well.
