Decorah boys fire 299 in victory

It was a slim margin of six strokes but the Decorah boys’ golf team left Cedar Ridge Golf Course winners Friday over Charles City, 199 to 205.
Trevor White of Charles City took medalist honors with a score of 88 on the 18-hole, par 72 course. Decorah’s Ben Bockman claimed the runner-up spot with a score of 98.
Other varsity scores were Ethan Holthaus, 99; Jackson Knocke, 101; Brody Hanson, 101; Baylor Bohr, 106; and Lane Rolfs, 110.
In the JV match, Decorah played nine holes. Touring the course were Shlok Patel (46), Jonathon Egan (52), Cale Donlon (52), Gavin Stortz (57), Casey Brickley (58) Lincoln Robinson (60) and Brock Christensen (66).
Tonight (Tuesday, May 4), the Viking JV team will compete at Ma Cal Grove Country Club in Caledonia, at 3 p.m. Decorah will be on the road Thursday, taking on Waverly-Shell Rock at the Waverly Municipal Golf Course at 4 p.m.
