By Becky Walz,

Five Turkey Valley and three South Winn girls were recently named to the All-Upper Iowa Conference girls basketball teams for the work on the court during the 2024-25 season.
Two for the Trojans
Turkey Valley’s Addison Steinlage and Bella Stika reigned in unanimous first team honors having led the Trojans to a share of the Upper Iowa Conference crown.
Steinlage, the Trojans’ junior point guard, finished fourth in the league in total points with 276, averaging 12.5 per game. She was second on the squad in steals with 56 and handed out 47 assists while pulling down 85 total rebounds (47 defensive, 38 offensive).
A force under the basket, Stika led all UIC rebounders by over 100, hauling in 324 boards during her sophomore campaign. She had 174 offensive and 150 defensive rebounds, averaging 14.1 a game. In addition, she was third in steals in the league with 76 and was seventh in scoring with 236 total points (10.3 ppg). Stika also had 43 assists and nine blocked shots.
Nods on second team
South Winn senior Karissa Wenthold and Trojan sophomore Ellaney Bodensteiner were named to the second team this season.
For Wenthold it’s her second time on the UIC second team as she became the Warriors’ all-time leader in three pointers with 107 during her career in the South Winn uniform, hitting 29 this season – fifth best in the league. Wenthold led all Warriors in scoring with a total of 183 points (8.0 ppg) and had the most steals with 57 and assists with 40 for SW in addition to handling 73 total rebounds (49 defensive, 24 offensive).
Stepping into a varsity position, Bodensteiner made an impact for the Trojans as the third-leading rebounder with 99 total boards (51 offensive, 48 defensive) and 20 blocked shots. Offensively, Bodensteiner put up 128 points, fourth best on the TV squad to go with 11 steals and eight assists.

Two members of each team in the Upper Iowa Conference are recognized on the honorable mention list, and this year it was South Winn’s Allison Hageman and Vanessa Bullerman, along with TV’s Delaney Busta and Emersyn Hoffert getting the nods – all are first time honorees.
Hageman, a senior, provided sound defensive support for the Warriors, coming away with 35 steals and 58 total rebounds (40 defensive, 18 offensive), along with contributing 48 points and 20 assists.
