Serving others has always been something that I have been committed to. If elected, I will continue that commitment and be able to do that on a greater level for individuals who call Decorah home. A few of my priorities regarding my decision to run for city office include but are not limited to dependable leadership, standard of living, and city partnerships. The reasoning behind these priorities for me as a candidate is to make Decorah a community that allows for improvement and continually forward-thinking, strives for the future, and provides space to better ourselves for generations to come. If elected, I plan to have quarterly meetings with constituents and business owners of Ward 2 to go over current issues and any issues they would like addressed, allowing those individuals to be informed and involved in the daily decisions impacting the city. In addition, if elected, I will be the youngest individual ever elected to the city council here in Decorah. This will be an advantage, especially as we progress toward Decorah and it’s future generations that will call it home. I also hold a degree in applied human resources management and have assisted in local and national political campaigns. Those experiences will also be a good perspective/point if elected to the city council here on November 7th.
