To our elected officials: Don’t be sheep

By Robert Beebe, Decorah

Dear Editor,
First off, I do believe in good people having guns. So, having an open door and no rules, to give away guns, just like a prize for buying over 10 dollars-worth of food, so a five-year old can get a gun is right?
Second: why, do you want to change the way we vote? Just because you nearly lose the vote and it was fair by your standards. Just like the old saying which still holds true today. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.
Thirdly: when do the people we voted for act like sheep and follow some nut case from some other state.
So, is Colbert from “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” right about what the republicans are trying to do? It’s available at: “Republicans Unleash A Tidal Wave of Anti-voting Legislation” on YouTube.
I hope that the people of the Iowa Senate, House and the governor of this great state stand back for a moment and see just what they are trying to do and act like.
They were voted into office by the good people of this great state, of which I’m proud of being one.
Don’t be sheep. Believe in yourself.
