Farewell to Decorah

By Jud and Connie Barclay

Dear Editor,
In a few days, we are leaving Decorah to move to Traverse City, Mich., to be closer to our son and his family. We made this decision in order to be closer to family as we age, but are young enough to make our own life there.
Due to COVID-19 we have been unable to say goodbye to friends as we wished, so we now take this opportunity to bid farewell to all of you. We have always said that moving to Decorah to take jobs at Luther College was the best decision we ever made. Thank you to all our co-workers at Luther, many of whom became our dear friends. We have been richly blessed by all the opportunities Decorah has to offer. We found satisfaction in many worthy causes during our retirement, most especially the Decorah Community Food Pantry. We are members of First Lutheran Church and will sorely miss worshipping and making music with you. Decorah is such a special place and it, and all of our friends, will always be in our hearts.
We look forward to visiting when we can and perhaps seeing some of you in Traverse City.

Jud and Connie Barclay
