Susan M. Breitbach

Susan M. Breitbach passed away Sept. 19, 2016, at her home in Marietta, Ga. A funeral Mass is Monday, Sept. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, Ga. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan’s memory to the Atlanta Humane Society or a local Humane Society.

Susan Marie (Palmersheim) Breitbach was born in the Sagamihara Army Hospital in Sagamihara, Kanagawa-ken, Japan, Dec 13, 1966, to Robert and Kei (Takakura) Palmersheim, the youngest of three children. In 1969, the family returned to the US.S. and settled in St Louis Park, Minn. Susan participated in sports throughout her school years (softball, basketball, track; and she excelled at acrobatics.) Susan graduated from St Louis Park High School in 1985. She then attended the University of Minnesota, and the University of Pittsburgh, where she received her BA in 1994. She received her MBA from Georgia State University, Magna Cum Laude, in 1997. She worked for Delta Air Lines, Colonial Pipe Lines and Hewitt Packard Corp, and CH2M as a financial analyst and manager. She owned and managed her own consulting firm, Masumizu LLC for many years. Susan married Brad Breitbach Nov. 11, 1995, in Christ the King Catholic Church, Atlanta, Ga. They lived in Marietta, Ga. for the rest of her life. Two children – daughter, Sarah Kei, and son, Benjamin Andrew, were born to this union.

Susan is survived by her husband; her children; her mother, Kei Palmersheim, of Acworth, Ga.; her father and stepmother, Robert and Karen Palmersheim of Lawler; and her brothers, Gerald Matthew Palmersheim (Bailey Stackhour) and his children, Charlie and Tia Palmersheim, of Chanhassen, Minn. and John M. Palmersheim (Kelly) of Minneapolis, Minn.; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Matt and Dolores (McGrane) Palmersheim of Elma; and Risuke and Chie (Masumizu) Takakura of Hiratsuka, Japan; and her in-laws, Bob and Vivian (Nasby) Breitbach of Powder Springs, Ga.
