Sharifah K. Hagen, 58, of Waukon, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, at her home in Waukon.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in June of 2025, at Congregational United Church of Christ in Decorah. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Mable Lutheran Cemetery in Mabel, Minnesota. Martin – Grau Funeral Home in Waukon will be handling the arrangements.
Sharifah Kay Hagen was born Feb. 11, 1966, in Richmond, California, the daughter of George D. and Joann K. (Kaiser) Hagen. She was baptized in Richmond, Calif., and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill, Calif. Sharifah completed special education schooling in Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Berkely, Calif.
On April 22, 1993, she moved with her parents to Decorah. Sharifah has lived in several towns in Northeast Iowa, the last 24 years she has lived in Waukon. She was a resident at Mosaic in Waukon. Sharifah did daily activities with Spectrum and TASC.
She enjoyed ice skating, roller skating when she was younger and ballet especially The Nutcracker Ballet. Sharifah also enjoyed swimming and horseback riding throughout her life. When she was four years old, she jumped off the diving board in Saudi Arabia.
Survivors include her parents: George and Joann Hagen of Decorah; a brother Kurtis (Loni) Hagen of Tampa Bay. Florida; two nephews: Kai and Erik Hagen; numerous cousins, an aunt Lorraine Wickett; an uncle Karl (Barb) Hagen; and cousins Eddy and Carol Hagen Atwell.

I am sorry to read of Sharifah’s passing. My sympathy goes out to her family. We met at Thunder Rode years ago & had many good conversations. Rest In Peace Sharifah
