MARY DONOVAN, 87, of Ridgeway, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at her home outside of Ridgeway. A mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah, with Rev. Donald Hertges presiding. Burial is in St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Bluffton. Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah, and also after 10 a.m. Monday morning at the church. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mary is survived by her husband, Pat Donovan; children: Dennis Donovan, Charles City; Daniel (Donna) Donovan, Minburn; Colleen (Brad) Davis, Mason City; Doug (Kathy) Donovan, Ridgeway; and Johanna Tweedy, Rochester, Minn.; grandchildren: Patrick Donovan, Adam Donovan, Bridget (Nic) Busse, Andrea (Bill) Duesenberg, Kristin (Chet) Sempat, Sean Secora, John and Matthew Donovan, Brady Davis.; great-grandchildren: Marjorie Tweedy, Henry Duesenberg, Jack Busse and Easton Sykes; sister, Bernadette Magner, Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Leora Andorf, Cedar Falls; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Terrance and Mabel (McCauley) Courtney; siblings: Parnell Courtney, Paul (Mary) Courtney, Peter (Ila) Courtney and Ann (William) McKenna; father and mother-in-law, Leo and Marie (Novak) Donovan; brothers and sisters-in-law: John Magner, Virginia (Richard) McMahon, Mary Jo (Richard) O’Brien, Reta (Eugene) Barsness, Dennis Donovan and Ewald Andorf; step-granddaughter, Briana Sykes.
