MARILYN J. ISTAD, 88, of Decorah, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Wellington Place in Decorah. Memorial services are at First Lutheran Church in January 2018. Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Julie Stroeve and Linda (Thomas) Brandt, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; five grandchildren: Luke Stroeve of Seattle, Wash., Andrew (Allison) Stroeve of Des Moines, Tova Brandt (Steven Olson) of Decorah, Kirsten (Brandt) Hensley (Christopher) of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Isak Istad Sindler of Lancaster, Pa.; four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Kay Bigalk of Harmony, Minn.
