Gerald Rinken

Gerald Herman Rinken, age 75, passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at his home in Cresco.

Gerald was born to Phillip and Christine (Jauert) Rinken June 11, 1945, in Decorah. He enjoyed farming for the majority of his life and worked for both the Wilson Meat Packing Company and the Carlson Construction Company for a short period. Gerald served in the United States Army for two years. He enjoyed  spending time outside by hunting and fishing, watching sports and had a special place for the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Cubs.

Gerald is survived by his siblings Robert (Bonnie) Rinken of Decorah; Kenneth (Shirley) Rinken of Rochester, Minn.; a sister-in-law Sandy Rinken of Green; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother LaVerne Rinken, sister Marie (Jim) Neelans, one nephew, one great-niece and one great-nephew.  

Public visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept.17, 2020 at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco. A private family burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery with Father Jacob Rouse officiating.
