Beth Ann Peterson

Beth Ann Peterson was born April 2, 1974, in Caledonia, Minn., to Gerald and Judy (Ranzenberger) Tollefsrud. She grew up in Spring Grove and graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1992. She was baptized and confirmed at Triniy Lutheran Church, Spring Grove.

She passed away suddenly Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, the result of a brain aneurysm.

Memorial service is Friday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. Visitation is from 11 to 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spring Grove, Minn.

She was united in marriage to Cori Peterson, of Calmar, May 7, 1994. To this union was born their son, Trevor. They later divorced.

In 1999 she met Kelly Young, of Eldorado, Ill. Their daughter Ellsa was born March 5, 2003. They were united in marriage in 2004. They later separated. Beth and Ellsa were currently living in Harrisburg, Ill. She was working for SI Dollar Saver as a digital content administrator, composition and team assistant.

Beth loved life and lived life to its fullest. Her greatest love and pride and joy were her kids, Trevor and Ellsa. She was an amazing mother. She loved to hike, explore the great outdoors and experience everything there was with her children.

She loved the peace and quiet of the star-filled night or the quietness of a gentle rain, or the early morning fog. Her six nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews were a great pride and joy of hers. Her nickname for them all was “Sugar sweethearts.” Her circle of friends was many and were a very important part of her life. She cherished each and every friendship and felt very blessed to know each and every one of them and to be able to call them her friends.

Anybody who had the pleasure of meeting Beth only for a few minutes, or shared a lifetime friendship, loved her smile and that laugh that filled the room. She was always able to find the good and beauty in every situation. No matter what she was doing, she gave it her all.

She is survived by her son, Trevor Peterson (special friend Becca Riha), Cedar Falls; daughter, Ellsa Young, Harrisburg, Ill.; her father, Gerald (Linda) Tollefsrud, Spring Grove; her mother, Judy Tollefsrud (Jeff Gerard), Spring Grove; her siblings, Christine (Kevin) VanHorn, Spillville and Todd (Charlene) Tollefsrud, Springbrook, Wis.; step-siblings: Erica (Dave) Brooks, Christopher (Becky) Tuveson, Jeremy (Alicia) Tuveson; nieces and nephews: Ben (Keely) VanHorn, Khala (Jason) Gerleman, Jessica (Jonathon) Whaley, Micah (Johanna) VanHorn, Adam Tollefsrud, Arilah Tollefsrud; step-nieces and nephews: Elisa Ramey, Micah Ramey, Stephanie Ramey, Ryan Ramey, Grant, Calyn Brooks, Owen, Hannah Tuveson, Brianna, Sam, Leona, Eden, Jakob Tuveson; great-nieces and nephews: AJ, Raelyn, Graison Whaley, Zoey, Jackson Gerleman, Wesson Hogenson, Noah VanHorn; her godparents: Bernell and Kathy Tollefsrud and Norman and Shirley Kleinlein; and many aunts and uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Truman and Beth Tollefsrud, Armie and Iris Ranzenberger; her aunt, Susan Landsom (June 18, 2017); cousins: Brianna Dahl, Chayne Tollefsrud, Christian Wilson; uncle, George Rovang, Jr.; and her dear friend, Emily Jean Peterson.
