Bayonne Wright, 89, of Burr Oak, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at her home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Burr Oak Lutheran Church in Burr Oak, with the Rev. Matt Larson officiating. Burial is in the Burr Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and one hour prior to services at the church.
Bayonne was born Nov. 27, 1926, in Spring Grove, Minn. to Lars and Ivy (Sauer) Bergsgaard. She graduated from the Spring Grove High School. In 1945, she married Vernon L. Wright in Spring Grove. They farmed in the Dorchester area for a short time before moving to the farm in Burr Oak and she has remained a resident there. Vernon passed away Nov. 4, 2010. She was a member of the Burr Oak Lutheran Church and enjoyed helping with church functions, sewing, traveling and boating.
Bayonne is survived by two children, Dawn Hewitt of Spring Grove and Greg (Shirley) of Burr Oak; six grandchildren: Brenda Leibold, Tracy Joe McCabe, Heather (Jerry) Frey, Naycia (Mike) Dotzler, Twyla (Wade) Marlow and Tyler Wright; two step-grandchildren, Dawn Hoppe and Michelle (Scott) Saltou; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; and her parents.
