ART HEMESATH, 93, of Ossian, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Ossian Senior Hospice, Ossian. Visitation was Tuesday, May 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 4 p.m. and a scripture service at 8 p.m. by Rev. Robert Gross. There also was a one hour visitation before Mass time at the church Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Ossian, with Rev. Richard Kuhn and Rev. Robert Gross as the concelebrants. Interment followed at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery, Ossian, with military rites. Schmitz-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Ossian helped the family with arrangements. Art is survived by his former wife, Janet Hemesath of Ossian; children: Cliff (Norine) Hemesath of Ossian, Rick (Anita) Hemesath of Ossian, Arlinda Michael (John Moskwa) of Madison, Wis., Ron (Wanda) Hemesath of Decorah, Lou Ann (Victor) Register of Morris, Ill. and Rod Hemesath of Ossian; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Marilyn) Hemesath of Monona; and sisters-in-law, DeEtta (Alphonse) Hemesath of Decorah and DeAnn (Elmer)Hemesath of Ossian. Art was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alvina Hemesath; brothers, Joseph, Alphonse and Elmer Hemesath; and sister, Doris Huber.
