Alexandra “Allie” Loden

Alexandra “Allie” Loden, 26, of Decorah, died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, near Decorah, in an automobile accident. Services were at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah, with Rev. Dave Sorenson officiating. Organist was Kathy Murray. Soloist was Wyatt Anderson (Sissy’s Song by Alan Jackson). Hymns were “Amazing Grace,” “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and “On Eagle’s Wings.” Honorary casket bearers were all of Allie’s many friends. Interment was at Russell Cemetery, Decorah. Arrangements were handled by Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, Decorah.

Alexandra Morgan “Allie” Loden was born June 6, 1989, in Mason City. Allie attended and graduated from Decorah High School in 2007. She attended Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, graduating in 2013 as a registered nurse. Allie worked at Wellington Place Nursing Home in Decorah and most recently at Iowa Rotocast, also in Decorah. Allie enjoyed going to the river with her son, Josh and her friends, attending car races, playing pool, listening to music, going to concerts and spending time with her family and friends. Allie was a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church.

Allie is survived by her son, Joshua Sande, Decorah; her parents, Chip and Peggy Piper, Decorah and Mark (Mary) Loden, Forest City; one brother, Nick Frana, Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Emily (Nathan) Ploeger, Forest City; grandparents: Mary Marti, Decorah; Delbert and Dorothy Witt, Mason City; Shirley Loden, Cresco; and LaVonne Jones, Mason City; four step-siblings: Erin Piper, Ossian; Ryan Piper, Decorah; Beth (Matt) Irwin, Skokie, Ill.; and Brian (Laurie) Walker, Republic, Mo.; Joshua’s dad, Harlan Sande, Decorah; Harlan’s parents, Howard and Lorna Sande, Decorah, along with their family. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Allie was preceded in death by her three grandfathers: Paul Marti, Austin Loden and Roland Jones, along with many great-grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
