Winter Walking Field Trips announced

Lace up your boots and grab your winter gear as the Decorah Public Library, in collaboration with Upper Explorerland’s Walking School Bus, invites upper elementary and middle school students (Grades 3-8) to embark on a series of Winter Walking Field Trips in the coming weeks.
This hands-on program promises a blend of winter fun and physical activity, featuring activities such as snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding (weather permitting).
Dates are Jan. 17, 24, and 31, and Feb. 7 from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.
Each week, participants will explore a new destination around town, offering a mix of outdoor activities like snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding. Organizers said the program aims to encourage physical activity, foster a love for the outdoors, and provide a unique and engaging winter experience.
Registration: Due to limited space, registration is required. Interested participants can find registration forms at www.decorahlibrary.org/calendar-of-events. For inquiries about accessibility, accommodations, or logistics, contact Sophie Nall at snall@decorahlibrary.org.
Winter Gear: To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience, participants are advised to come prepared with appropriate winter gear, including snow pants, hats, and warm gloves or mittens.
