Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office sees several applicants as a positive for the area

“While some of the economic impacts going on across the country have affected the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office in several ways; fortunately, the nationwide labor shortage, which has particularly impacted law enforcement, is not one of them."

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office has been taking applications earlier this month to fill a deputy position.  Chief Deputy Jeff Berns, with the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office reported a good turnout of applications in a recent statement:
“While some of the economic impacts going on across the country have affected the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office in several ways; fortunately, the nationwide labor shortage, which has particularly impacted law enforcement, is not one of them.  We are in the process of hiring a new deputy, ended our application period June 24.  We are very fortunate to have received a very strong group of deputy sheriff applications, including nine applicants who are already certified, experienced officers and deputies from other agencies.
