It’s a jam-packed weekend in Waukon with Crazy Days and Corn Days offering something for everyone – this year with a twist.
Watch for Crazy Day sidewalk sales in conjunction with Iowa tax-free weekend Friday and Saturday, Aug. 4-5, in Waukon. Hit the stores all around town for summer deals, specials and bargains. Sidewalk sales run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday, the Corn Days Community Appreciation Meal will be held from 4 to 8p.m., at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds. Attendees from the community can find a hamburger and hotdog bar, Mexican sweet corn and sweet corn, chips, watermelon and milk or water, and s’mores stations.
Kids zone with inflatables will be on hand in the Waukon State Bank parking lot, which will also be the site of a family-friendly movie at dusk with free popcorn (bring chair or blanket for seating).
Saturday, Aug 5, kicks off with Crazy Days sidewalk sales and NEI Makers and Vendor Show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Catch the Corn Days Parade at 9:30 a.m.; Line up starts at the Fairgrounds at 9 a.m. Route will go straight through stoplights and end at the Waukon Banquet Center. The Co-ed Softball Tournament will start at 10 a.m., at the ball diamond. WW Homestead Dairy is holding their monthly Car and Bike Show in their parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
