Tree Planting Bike Ride planned here Oct. 20

A unique event is being organized Sunday, Oct. 20, in Decorah.

Organizers invite youngsters and families to meet at Miller Park in the Minowa Heights subdivision in south Decorah at 1 p.m. Oct. 20. Trees will be planted while biking along part of the Trout Run Trail. The bike ride/tree planting is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. along the trail. A free meal will be provided following the ride at the Decorah Fish Hatchery.

Space is limited, and registration is due by noon on Oct. 16.

The activity is sponsored by Decorah Public Library, Upper Explorerland’s Safe Routes to School and Winneshiek County Conservation. Trees funded by the Iowa DNR’s Tress for Kids project.
