Spring Grove plant to layoff 80

Northern Engraving will be turning their plant in Spring Grove, Minn., to warehouse space by the end of this year.  This will mean a layoff of 80 jobs filled by locals. Northern Engraving has five locations throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota. Closing the Spring Grove plant will leave four Wis. plants remaining.

According to KAAL’s Theodore Tollefson, “Northern Engraving has been producing auto body parts at this plant for nearly 50 years. But with their main buyer in auto parts discontinuing two cars that require the most parts from their Spring Grove plant, they are deciding not to find new partners.”

Northern Engraving closed their Lansing plant in 2002, their Waukon plant in 2008, and expects the Spring Grove location to continue to serve as a warehouse for the company into 2024. Northern Engraving was acquired by NBHX, a Chinese auto manufacturing company, in 2013.
