Two drivers reported minor injuries following a collision Monday, March 17 in the 1900 block of Glenville Road. A report from the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office said Michael Keith Raketich of Harpers Ferry was traveling north in a 2010 Toyota Camry. As the Camry approached the crest of a hill, a 2003 Dodge Caravan driven by David D. Joe Weber of Decorah also crested the hill. The Dodge was “slightly over the center of the road,” according to the sheriff’s report, and the two vehicles collided. The Camry came to rest in the middle of the road, while the Dodge rolled into the west ditch. Raketich reported a small injury to the top of his head, but refused transportation to the hospital, according to the report. Weber had a small injury to his left hand and reported slight shoulder pain — he also refused transportation to the hospital. The report said Weber was most likely at fault and may have been driving too fast for the road conditions, but the report also noted there were no lane markers on the gravel road, adding “the road was narrow in that area” and “the sides of the road (were) soft from precipitation, causing all drivers to move more towards the center.”
Joshua Eubanks, age 36, of Waukon was served an arrest warrant for violation of a no contact order at approximately 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, March 19.

The vehicle crossed the center line around 4:30 p.m. and struck a 2022 Dodge TK driven by Kevin Francis Hemesath of Ossian before entering the southern ditch. The sheriff’s office said the accident was reported about four hours later, and law enforcement used photos taken from the scene and statements to investigate. Damage to the Ford was estimated at $5,000. Damage to the Dodge was estimated at $13,000.
