Winneshiek County Sheriff

Dar’Shaun Tobacco, 18, of Cresco, was arrested on River Road in Decorah Aug. 12 at 3:52 a.m., and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for operating while under the influence and serious misdemeanor possession of controlled substance.

Aureliano Godinez Carreto, 35, of Postville, was arrested on Highway 9 in Decorah Aug. 13 at 2:03 a.m., and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for operating while under the influence and open container.

While incarcerated in the Winneshiek County Jail, Ronnie Snyder, 56, of Calmar, was charted with C felony theft, 1st degree. This was from an incident occurring May 24, 2023, involving the theft of a motor vehicle.

Kristen Fravel, 24, of Waukon, was arrested Aug. 18 and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on an arrest warrant for failure to serve jail time.

Damien Bruns, 18, of Ridgeway, was cited for failure to obey traffic control device following an accident Aug. 12 on 240th Street. Bruns was traveling east on 240th Street when he failed to stop at the intersection with County Road W14, striking a vehicle driven by Brian Kleppe, 28, of Ossian. The impact caused the Kleppe vehicle to enter the east ditch of County Road W14. Damages totaled $10,000 to Kleppe’s 2011 Acadia SUV and $5,000 to 1992 Sierra truck.

Decorah Police

Decorah Police Officers were dispatched Aug. 16 at 10:34 p.m. for a report of a male subject passed out in a front yard in the 300 block of Vernon Street. After an investigation, 77-year-old James Anthony was arrested for public intoxication. He was transported to the Winneshiek County Jail without incident.
