Reports from the Decorah Police Department

Emily Lyn Hook, age 49, of Decorah was booked into the Winneshiek County Jail at 2:37 p.m. Thursday, March 13 on charges of third-degree harassment, stalking and three counts of electronic/mechanical eavesdropping. A criminal complaint filed against Hook said she committed multiple offenses between June of 2024 and January of 2025, including intercepting communications and engaging in electronic surveillance of the victim’s activities as well as “communicating details of his personal life to others with the knowledge the victim would be informed.”
The Decorah Police Department arrested two women for trespassing Friday, March 14 after an officer investigated two vehicles behind The Depot Outlet in Decorah. Information from the police department said the officer was on a routine patrol and observed three individuals inside the business’ dumpster and were removing items. Police said two of the subjects “had either been cited or warned about trespassing in the Depot Outlet’s dumpster.” Police arrested 45-year-old Monica Rae Knockel of Monona — who was booked into the Winneshiek County Jail at 1:25 a.m. that day — and 37-year-old Molly Schlegel of Castalia — who was booked into jail about five minutes later. Information from the police department said 38-year-old William Colvin of Postville was also issued a summons to appear for trespassing.

All people listed may face charges and should be presumed innocent until their case is reviewed through the legal process.
