Decorah Police
Decorah Police Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Broadway for the report of a disabled vehicle in the roadway at 2:55 a.m. Aug. 26. Upon arrival in the area, officers located 27-year-old Corrina Voigt of Decorah in the 400 block of Oak Street. After an investigation was conducted, it was determined that Voigt had struck two parked vehicles in the 400 Block of Oak Street and attempted to leave the area in the originally called in disabled vehicle. Voigt’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was unable to be driven more than 2 blocks from the original collision. Voigt was arrested for operating while intoxicated 1st offense and transported to the Winneshiek County jail without incident. While at the scene, officers located 21-year-old Dakota Troyna of Decorah in the area of the disabled motor vehicle. After investigation, it was determined that Troyna had been with Voigt at the scene of the disabled vehicle. Troyna was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the Winneshiek County jail without incident.
Winneshiek Sheriff
Jacob Wurst, 31, of Decorah, was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail Sept 6 on an arrest warrant for violation of probation, two counts.
Shane Lansing, 42, of Ossian, was cited for failure to yield upon entering highway following an accident Sept. 6 on Highway 9 east of Decorah. Shortly before 8:16 p.m., Lansing was westbound on Millennium Drive and came to a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 9. He attempted to make a left-hand turn to continue southbound on Highway 9. He said he could not see other vehicles prior to entering the roadway. His vehicle entered the roadway into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Keylin Lopez Vicente, 16, of Postville. The vehicles collided, and all drivers and occupants were not injured. Lopez Vicente was cited for violation of instruction permit limitation. Damages were estimated at $14,000.
Stacey Darling, 50, of Decorah, was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail at 9:43 p.m. Sept. 16 for operating while under the influence.
Lorna Leerar, 64, of Clear Lake, was arrested in Ridgeway and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail Sept. 15 at 11:43 a.m. for operating while under the influence.
Kolton Wiedow, 16, of Castalia, was cited for failure to maintain control following an accident Sept. 14 on 227th Avenue. Wiedow was reportedly driving east on 190th Street when he lost control and entered the ditch of 227th Avenue while attempting to make a right turn. His vehicle rolled and was disabled. The driver and his passenger refused medical treatment. An estimated $10,000 in damages was reported to the 2008 Ford Edge SUV Wiedow was driving.
