Work on the east half of Quarry Street will begin March 31 with removal of existing pavement, and the street may be closed at College Drive for several weeks.
Skyline crews will grade the base one-lane at a time to provide local traffic access to residences and Dunning’s Spring Park on a gravel surface. Work is expected to last 2-3 weeks pending weather. City officials said the access to Kwik Star’s north driveways will not be affected except for transition work at the northeast exit in week 2 or 3. Quarry Street will be closed to all traffic for one day while the east half is paved (date to be determined).
Work on the west half will begin after the east half is paved. Quarry Street will be closed at College Drive during some of the construction, although Kwik Star will allow local traffic to transit through the their facility for access to residences and Dunning’s Spring Park. Work on the west half involves full-width grading and asphalt paving. The project is expected to be complete by the end of May.
Local traffic parking on Kwik Star property is prohibited.
