Precinct 2 polling location changed

Due to long lines and wait times for voters during the November 2022 General Election at the Courthouse Annex polling location, Winneshiek County Auditor Benjamin Steines has reassigned the Precinct 2 voters from the Annex to the First Lutheran Church for future elections.

Due to long lines and wait times for voters during the November 2022 General Election at the Courthouse Annex polling location, Winneshiek County Auditor Benjamin Steines has reassigned the Precinct 2 voters from the Annex to the First Lutheran Church for future elections.

Precinct 2 consists of Hesper, Highland, Canoe, Pleasant, and Glenwood Townships.

According to Steines, normally following the decennial census and the required redistricting process, voters are assigned polling locations for the next 10 year cycle. The new assignment for Precinct 2 voters will be effective for all elections over the next nine years.

All households in Precinct 2 have been sent a notice by the Winneshiek County Auditor’s Office.
