‘Airing of the Quilts’ July 6

Quilts will adorn neighborhoods of Decorah on Thursday, July 6, as the NorthEast Iowa Quilters’ Guild sponsors the fourth annual Airing of the Quilts – a drive-by quilt show that runs from 3 to 7 p.m. All homes in Decorah are invited to display quilts this year – over fences, on porch rails, from rain gutters and more.
Bridge closure starts June 27

Bridge # 26 located on 295th Avenue approximately 3/4-mile south of Highway 24 between Fort Atkinson and Jackson Junction is to be closed starting Tuesday, June 27.
Kids Lunch Club adding distribution site

Kids Lunch Club is growing. In previous years, Kids Lunch Club has distributed nutritious meals throughout the summer at two locations – Freeport Park and John Cline Elementary School. Starting Wednesday, July 5, a third distribution location is being added at the Mobile Home Community in Freeport

‘Pulpit to Pulpit’ run-walk charities announced

The fifth annual Pulpit to Pulpit 5k/1mile fun run-walk has announced the charitable recipients of this year’s event: Friends of Decorah Public Library and Decorah Free Clinic. Since the first race in 2017, Pulpit to Pulpit has donated more than $40,000 to area nonprofits. Past non-profit recipients include ArtHaus Inc., Spectrum Network, the Boy Scouts, Decorah Community Dog Park, Helping Services for Youth & Families, the Humane Society of Northeast Iowa, Decorah Food Pantry, and Decorah Human Powered Trails.
