Decorah High School students participated in the Northeast State Large Group Speech Contest Feb. 3 at Dubuque Senior High School, and earlier this week judges selected 16 of Decorah High School performances as outstanding – tying the school record.

Luther College will host a Green Dot Bystander Intervention Workshop Thursday, Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Peace Dining Room on the second floor of Dahl Centennial Union. The workshop is open to all Decorah area community members to learn strategies for preventing interpersonal violence in the community.

A Drake University professor recently released a study showing that nearly 100 pharmacies have closed across the state since 2008. Thirty-eight percent of those were privately owned independent pharmacies. Nineteen percent of the closures occurred in rural Iowa.
