Iowa State Trooper succumbs to injuries

An Iowa State Patrol Trooper from Decorah has died of injuries sustained in an Oct. 14 accident. The State Patrol will have a procession for Trooper Ted Benda in North Iowa on Friday. The escort will travel from the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, traveling through Decorah on Highway 9 and turning north on Highway 76 and Highway 9 into Waukon, ending at Martin Funeral Home. Estimated arrival in the Decorah area is between noon and 1 p.m. Friday.
