At the Tuesday, May 10 South Winneshiek School Board meeting, it was announced Einck’s resignation would be accepted at a special board meeting held Friday, May 13, at 7:30 a.m., and the board would pursue a sharing contract with Howard-Winneshiek Schools for the superintendent’s position for one year for the 2022-2023 school year.

Decorah school budget leads to terminations

At the Monday, May 9, Decorah Community School District School Board meeting, Superintendent Mark Lane recommended several actions to adjust the budget for the next school year. Actions include contract terminations, reducing the number of classes to match enrollment and moving two classes within facilities. 

Hometown Heroes Hike Saturday in Decorah
