The Luther College cheer and dance team recently competed in the American Rivers Conference Championship in Storm Lake, placing third in the conference, just seven points away from first place.

Team member Lilly Timm’s solo performance earned scores of 18.5, 18.6, and 19.5 out of 25 — scores which would have landed her on the All-Conference Second Team if the dance team were officially part of athletics at Luther College.

This is coach Maia Harvey’s first year as head coach, and she said the team has big goals ahead, which include working toward becoming an official athletic program at Luther.

She said the team also plans on attending more camps, getting the Norse mascot involved and increasing their presence in the community.
