Decorah is participating in Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Community and Economic Development (CED) unit’s Rural Housing Readiness Assessment (RHRA) Program.

A local housing steering committee will be participating in an education session and a strategic planning session with CED specialists to create a vision and an action plan to address housing needs in Decorah.

The first meeting with CED specialists is scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, at noon.. During this meeting, CED specialists will discuss a range of possible housing options and decision points with the steering committee, officials, and community members. The RHRA work book and the community housing survey will be used to determine which options are currently viable, and others that would require changes to ordinances, policies, or funding. The meeting will include case studies from other communities that have been successful.

Contact Decorah City Hall at 382-3651 with any questions.
