Gara Lonning, a graduate of Decorah High School, returns to hometown roots for a “Homecoming” performance Nov. 17, 18 and 19 at the New Minowa Players Building at 906 S. Mill Street.

The show, titled “Welcome to the Big Show Homecoming!”, tells the story of a 19-year-old whose “self-proclaimed comedy coach father” moves his family from the Midwest to New York City.

According to pre-show publicity, “This show is a love letter to unique families, queer self-discovery and devoted fathers.”

Based on a true story, Lonning takes the audience on a ‘Tilt-a-Whirl” by way of his Midwestern beginnings and NYC “comedy bro” upbringing.
