Vesterheim, the National Norwegian-American Museum and Folk Art School, offers Free Second Saturdays from June through October for special museum tours and an engaging community activity.
There will be an indoor tour of the museum’s Main Building at 11a.m., and an outdoor tour of Heritage Park at 1:30 p.m., on July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9 and Oct. 14. Museum and tour admission is free.
“This is a great chance to get an in-depth look at the museum with Vesterheim’s expert guides,” said Vesterheim Visitor Services Coordinator Chivonne Marlow.
Vesterheim’s Main Building showcases four floors of exhibits, including special exhibits this summer: “Herbjørn Gausta, 1854-1924,” open now; “Sámi Dreams: Portraits of Resilience in the Norwegian Arctic,” opening July 1; and “Embellishment,” opening July 6.
Heritage Park tours include a selection of the 12 historic buildings.
