After several postponements and delays, Adam Fravel, accused of murdering Madeline Kingsbury March 31, 2023, appeared in a Winona County courtroom this morning, Dec. 14, for a pretrial Omnibus hearing.  Kingsbury’s family was in attendance and held hands and embraced as they spoke with reporters.

When asked about seeing Fravel in court, Madeline’s father, David Kingsbury, replied, “It’s always an interesting mix of emotions … I don’t let him take up a whole lot of real estate in my head, I just worry about my daughter and getting justice for her.”

He continued, “We were happy the grand jury came back with the indictment bill that it did.  Waiting is never any fun, but it’s worth the wait.  Everybody wants this to be over soon, everybody wants justice for Madeline.  It’s a complicated case.”

A Winona County grand jury has indicted Fravel with four counts — murder in the first degree with a pattern of domestic abuse, murder in the first degree with premeditation, murder in the second degree intentional but without premeditation, and murder in the second degree unintentional while committing a felony.
