Education bill passes late Monday night

The Iowa House and Senate both passed the controversial bill late Monday night.

The Iowa House and Senate both passed the controversial bill late Monday night, providing state-funded vouchers for parents who want to send their kids to private schools, with $7,598 being made available per eligible student. Representative Michael Bergan of Decorah was among the nine Republicans in the House voting “no” to the measure. Iowa Senator Michael Klimesh of Spillville joined other Republicans in his endorsement for the bill on the Senate floor.
