Decorah Chorale spring concert May 7

The Decorah Chorale will present a spring concert Sunday, May 7, at 3 p.m. in the Decorah High School Auditorium.

The concert program, titled “Love: A Wild Force,” is broken into four parts: “The Heart’s Desire,” featuring sacred music; “So Deep in Love Am I,” celebrating new love and desire; “Love Soaring,” thematic music about setting love free after death; and “The Dearest and the Best,” honoring those who have stood tall in the face of adversity. Composers featured will be Gorczycki, Dent, Runestad, Brahms, Clausen, Wilberg, LaBarr, Brumfield, Whitacre, Valverde and Stroope.

A free-will offering will be taken to support the mission of the Decorah Chorale.

The Decorah Chorale is an adult mixed choral ensemble with members from Decorah and five surrounding Iowa communities. The group rehearses Sunday evenings beginning in late August and continuing through April, with several weeks off around the holidays.
