Decorah All Vets Club to replace flooring

Volunteers needed Feb. 20 & 24

The Decorah VFW/All Vets Center is looking to replace the flooring throughout its building, located in downtown Decorah. The project is scheduled to start on Monday, Feb. 21, and is being handled by Fashion Floor Center of Decorah.
Kassia Zweibohmer of Fashion Floor Center said, “The flooring that is in the All Vets Club is original to the building, so the decision was made that for the age of the building and the condition of the original floor, it would be safer and would give the building a new updated look, it would be easier to clean and maintain.”
Zweibohmer is hopeful to have the project completed by Wednesday, Feb. 23. While there will be numerous crews and subcontractors working on the project, the club is seeking volunteers to help move furniture before and after renovation. On Sunday, Feb. 20, volunteers are needed to move furniture out of the building, and on Thursday, Feb. 24, they’re needed to move it back.
Fashion Floor Center is donating the materials and labor needed for this project, as the current and previous Floor Center owners – Matthew and his late father Mike Zweibohmer – are Veterans. On top of that, there are also subcontractors that have ties to Vets Clubs in the surrounding areas, “so they didn’t hesitate to volunteer their time,” said Zweibohmer.
If interested in volunteering, contact Mark Stockdale at 563-382-4847 or call the VFW at 563-382-5232.
