Bridge work Dec. 4-15 at Lansing

Those traveling on the Iowa Highway 9 bridge over the Mississippi River from Lansing to Wisconsin in rural Crawford County, Wis., will need to be aware of an upcoming construction project that may slow down the trip.

Starting on Monday, Dec. 4, until Friday, Dec. 15, weather permitting, construction crews will close the eastbound lane on the bridge so the bridge rail can be repaired. Drivers will be guided across the bridge with flaggers while work is taking place.

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
