‘Dickens on Mill Street’ in Decorah Dec. 2

The Winneshiek County Historical Society will celebrate the contributions of the area’s early settlers of English descent in the second annual, “Dickens on Mill Street,” scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Northern Lights fall concert scheduled Nov. 19

The Northern Lights Women’s Chorus will present its fall concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at Decorah Lutheran Church. The 50-member ensemble, composed of singers from Decorah and surrounding communities, will perform a variety of beautiful choral music with the theme “The Love of Bare November Days.”

Polls across Iowa have closed, and the results of the Nov. 7 election are being tabulated. In Decorah, the city and school board election resulted in some familiar elected officials as well as some new faces. Winneshiek County Auditor Ben Steines said this election was a bit different, with more write-in candidates on the ballots than ever before. Steines said names of the write-in candidates will not be released as part of the initial election results.
