Big innings lead to wins for TV girls

It was a busy slate to start the week for the Turkey Valley softball team (9-14, 8-2 UIC), starting the week with a pair of doubleheaders both in and out of the conference Monday and Tuesday. The Trojans came away with two wins over the four games.

Local teams battle each other, Ottumwa

In what has become an annual tradition, the Decorah, South Winn and Ottumwa baseball teams have battled it out on the diamond. Saturday the trio of squads competed at Luther College with Ottumwa (19-6) sweeping the local teams and the Vikes (13-7) besting the Warriors (14-5).

Having won the first two meetings of the season over North Fayette Valley (3-16, 3-7 UIC), the Turkey Valley baseball team (9-10, 7-5 UIC) was looking for the three-game sweep Thursday, June 15, at home — and got it, 5-1.
