TV softball finishes UIC season on high note

In the final week of competition, the Turkey Valley softball team (12-19, 11-5 UIC) swept Clayton Ridge in a conference doubleheader Wednesday and dropped its final game of the regular season to Sumner-Fredericksburg Thursday.

SW claim share of UIC title

For the first time since 2004, the South Winn softball team (19-14, 14-2 UIC) claimed a share of the Upper Iowa Conference title after sweeping Kee (15-17, 12-4 UIC) at home Wednesday, 3-2 and 8-5. Going 14-2 in the UIC, the Warriors share the top spot with North Fayette Valley.

Decorah secures at least a share of NEIC title

The Decorah softball team (15-14, 10-3 NEIC) is looking to gain momentum before the postseason begins, getting a pair of conference wins over Crestwood Thursday. The series win sealed the deal for the Vikes to at least share the Northeast Iowa Conference title with second place Charles City, a team Decorah played Monday.

National Granny Basketball Tourney July 14- 16

The LC Decorah Troll Trotters Granny Basketball Team and Luther College are inviting the Decorah Community to join in welcoming participants in the first ever in-Iowa, National Granny Basketball Tournament. Twenty Granny basketball teams from the states of AZ, CA, IA, KS, LA, MO, TX, and WI will be converging on Decorah Friday-Sunday, July 14-16, to either compete for the National Title in the championship division or enjoy more leisurely competition in the new ‘Off Our Rockers’ division.
